Happy Harvest Festival Month Hey Everyone, Long time no see. I've been watching your gardens as you turn them over for the fall and I reflect on different things I have learned this year. I want to know what you learned and would like to suggest for changes next year. I will be in the garden Saturday October 17th at 9am to 11am and then I'll be in the Sustainable Garden from 11am to 1pm doing fall maintenance. Please stop by and give me some feedback. There are a few minor chores that need to be done and I would love some worker bees to come out of the hive and help out. Ray and I are in discussion of some projects he will be working on before next April, but for now, we've pretty much got the garden in a maintainable state. Some of us will be gardening this fall and have already planted seeds such as carrots, lettuce, kale, parsnips. And starts like beets, broccoli, cauliflower, and onions. The frost has hit the zucchini and peppers hard and if you had any tomatoes left, it's probably time to start removing the green ones to let them ripen on your counters. List of Chores and projects: - garbage to the dumpster.
- finish laying wood chips in last corner by shed.
- More wood chips to cover cardboard
- move rebuild compost bin #2,
- build gate by greenhouse.
WORK PARTY SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17th 9am to 11am. And TUESDAY, OCTOBER 20th, 4pm to 6pm. See you soon, Melissa melissarlang@enviroteach.net 425-308-8852
