If your planting seeds make sure your soil temp is at least 60 degrees so your seeds will germinate quickly.

Soil thermomitors can be purchased at graden stores and on line. they cost under 10 for the basic kinds. Bigger ones can be bought that can be put in your garden on a perminate basis to allow you to monitor your soil temp for your garden journals more easily.

A general bug spray that works well is made by finely cutting up hot peppers and mixxing them with water then letting the mix sit for a day and then strain the mix to take out the pepper chunks. put the mix in a spray bottle and spray your plants with the mix.
